Many sports cards have a visually busy front and a bordered reverse. Upload both so the model does not infer overall centering or edge quality from the showpiece side alone.

A numbered parallel or star rookie can be desirable and still have a chipped edge, print line or off-centre reverse. The report focuses on physical evidence visible in the capture, keeping player demand, scarcity, autograph legitimacy and market value outside the grade calculation.

Reflective stock changes the photography problem
Chrome and foil cards behave like small mirrors. One light can create a bright band that erases scratches, while harsh side light can exaggerate harmless texture. Two diffuse angles are more informative than a single dramatic listing image.
Paper cards bring different risks: dark borders reveal chips, vintage stock can show print defects or wax staining, and thicker memorabilia constructions may compress at corners. The capture should reveal the construction rather than flattening every card into the same visual recipe.
Autographs and relics require a separate trust decision
CardRevive can describe wear around a signature panel or patch window, but it does not determine whether an autograph is genuine, whether memorabilia is player-worn, or whether a serial stamp has been altered. Those facts depend on issuer records and specialist authentication.
Likewise, the report does not know current population counts or player markets. A technically gradable card may still be a poor financial submission once fees, insurance, turnaround and buyer demand are considered.

Can the sports card grader authenticate an autograph?
No. It can note visible condition near the autograph area, but signature authenticity requires provenance, issuer information or an authentication service equipped for that purpose.
How should I photograph a chrome sports card?
Use diffuse light from more than one direction, avoid flash, keep the lens parallel and review the file for white reflection bands. A second angle can reveal whether a suspected line stays with the card surface.
Does a serial-numbered card receive a higher estimate?
Scarcity is not a condition dimension. A serial stamp may affect market demand, but the visible-condition estimate should still be driven by centering, corners, edges and surface evidence.
